June is for resetting
June 05, 2026
You know I waste no opportunities to reset and pivot. Any new season or sign holds the power to be a catalyst for change. That is the case for the summer equinox. What a powerful event! I got my drivers license on a June 21st, so there’s some energy of autonomy and expansion going on in there. Today I’m sharing rituals and routines towards a soft summer reset. The point is less to transform into someone new and more to tap into an honest version of yourself.
Early bird meditations
To wake up when the day does. That is what my body is craving right now. I have been combining early risings with morning meditations. I tend to choose longer meditations in the morning as opposed to shorter ones at night. Moving slowly through this ritual and holding onto the feeling of reclaiming space for the rest of the day.
Streams of consciousness
Not exclusively a summer ritual, but one I return to all year long. Simple practices like meditation and morning pages have become grounding anchors in my day-to-day. Friendly tip: let go of quantity expectations. Whether you have a single paragraph in you or ten full pages. Writing in this scenario is more of a tool than a skill and you’re writing to no one but yourself.
Grocery shopping
As I get older, it becomes clearer and clearer to me that everything can be romantic. Even grocery shopping. Ceramics have deeply shaped the way I perceive shopping, cooking, serving and eating. I shifted away from a mindset of eating for survival and began noticing every step of the process of feeding myself. My boyfriend is an excellent cook and together we make the most of this whole shopping-cooking-serving-eating sequence. Plus, summer is the perfect time to regain an appetite for life, both literally and metaphorically.
Business hiatus
This is a privilege I can afford, and one I’m deeply grateful for. If you’re a part-time or full-time creative business owner, a hiatus might be exactly what your business needs. Taking small, intentionally redirected breaks creates space to remember what it feels like to create for pure delight, outside of embedded pressures. Experiment with new mediums. Pick up abandoned ideas. Whatever sparks curiosity.
Themed playlists
Nothing screams reset more than curating new playlists. For me, this season is usually a combination of anything ethereal, some bossa nova, high-frequency sounds, soft voices and new discoveries. No repeated artists and no limits on how many hours per playlist. Make it a collaborative task by inviting loved ones to add to your playlists.
